September 2020 Bullet Journal Setup — Fellowship-themed!

At last, September is here in all its amber and crimson radiance! It's one of my favorite months of the year—and made extra special, as it marks the birthday of two special characters in my favorite book, The Fellowship of the Ring! As such, in celebration of Frodo and Bilbo Baggin's birthday month, I've added a bit of LOTR-inspired bits to this month's bullet journal spread.

When Mr. Bilbo Baggins of Bag End announced that he would shortly be celebrating his eleventy-first birthday with a party of special magnificence, there was much talk and excitement in Hobbiton.

I know the opening lines of The Fellowship of the Ring by heart. This book is so utterly wonderful! I cannot wait to begin reading it again this month.

Oh, and in case you're new to the world of bullet journaling, you can check out my introductory bujo post here, where I help you navigate through picking out your first journal and finding innovative inspiration through materials you already have on hand. I'm using the Paperage journal this year and loving it, and per usual, using my black Micron pens in a size 03 and 01 for all lettering.

My September title page is a prelude to autumn apple crisps and baked goods. Apple-tree boughs and baskets for picking! Is any September complete without?

Now it comes to it...the Fellowship-inspired monthly spread! I'm pretty excited about this one. I had a first attempt that disagreed with me—or rather I, it!—and used some patterned scrapbook paper I had on hand to cover it up. Then I pasted some Lord of the Rings photo cut-outs I've had laying around for simply years. I layered everything with double-sided tape and used some on-hand stickers and washi tape for adhesive.

I'm really pleased with how it looks. I love promoting the use of on-hand supplies when it comes to journalling, as I see too often that so many are discouraged by the amount of expensive markers and doodling pens, stickers and stationery that are often used by the big-names of bullet journaling.

Here's a closer look at the spread. . .
